When it comes to choosing the best route for your two-wheeled adventure, having updated information on where you can expect to be able to ride is key. The City of Denver has recently released a 2019 version of the Denver Bike Map. While the bike network hasn't massively changed in the past two years, there are updates and additions that will be helpful to be aware of.
As you look at which streets you might decide to bike on, be sure to pay attention to the types of biking infrastructure the map indicates. The difference between a protected bike lane is much different than a shared road. Choose the route and types of bike-ways that you are most comfortable to ride safely in.
The Denver Bike Map also comes with some important tips and considerations that will help you stay safe on the road. Take the time to familiarize yourself with what signals to use, what rules you must follow, how to use enhanced bike-ways, etc. You might thank yourself later if you find yourself at a bike box or a turn queue box and don't know what to do!
